The MeCare α®  is designed to provide a pre-set regulated negative pressure to open, small to medium size wounds for home and hospital applications.The MeCare α®  may promote wound healing by either growth of granulation tissue, by removal of excess exudates or irrigation fluids and infectious materials. It is intended for management of chronic, acute, traumatic, sub-acute and dehisced, small to medium size wounds, small partial-thickness burns, ulcers (i.e., diabetic or pressure), flaps and grafts. Regulated, vacuum-assisted treatment by MeCare α® can be improved by combining with the administration of low flow oxygen and irrigation to the wound (regulated oxygen-enriched and irrigation negative pressure treatment; ROI-NPT), for prevention and reduction of anaerobic infection, and for accelerated evacuation of bacteria, in order to enhance wound healing.
